Both Lucknow and Varanasi are distinctly different in the way they look. One has the Nawabi That, while the other has the Ganga Ghat, one is famous for kebabs and the other is for Kachoris. Our twin city experience along with the Sangam in Allahabad explores the essential experience of this region along with all the tehzeeb and the rivaaz of the twin cities.

On arrival in Varanasi in the afternoon, you will be picked up and driven to the hotel near the banks of River Ganga for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Our morning will begin before dawn when we will drive to the Assi Ghat to witness the morning Aarti. The speciality of this Aarti is that young girls of the town take part in the narration of the shlokas. The morning continues with a classical Indian music concert to welcome the first rays of the sun. Later a Yoga guru will take a 30 minutes session with all the people on the ghat, including us. We will then take a boat and alight on Karnika ghat to take a walk through the narrow streets. Enjoy the morning scene of Varanasi and watch its people wake up to the smell of hot kachoris and jalebi.
We will return to the hotel for some rest and then after lunch, visit some other local sites (we do not recommend a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath temple). The evening Ganga Aarti is very different from the early morning one. We will take our seats to witness the last event of the day, but first, try a thandai with bhang if you are feeling adventurous enough. Later return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Early in the morning, we will board the train or bus for Lucknow. We will reach Lucknow in the afternoon. After the hotel check-in and some rest, we will begin with our Lucknow exploration along with the Awadh-Chambal-Bundelkhand group.
Those who wish to come on a morning food crawl can join the tour leader to go to the Sharma Tea stall where hot tea is served along with malai toasts and piping hot samosa. We will start our day with a visit to the Residency, where the British general stayed along with his entire staff until the Revolt of 1857.
Later we will enjoy an authentic Lucknowi meal for lunch and make a stop to shop for the Lucknow chikan works. We will go see the Bada Imambara and Rumi Darwaza, classic examples of the Awadhi style of architecture. Return back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
We will arrange local transport to drop you off at the airport.
